THE FIVE SENSES
Admire the view! The fields of vision from the Outremer 55 have been redesigned to offer a 360-degree view out of the saloon, cockpit and helm station in a seated position, and a continuity of exterior-interior spaces. In order to move around more easily we have optimized the circulation thanks to a lit path with courtesy lighting and indirect lighting. Also enjoy the enlarged view of the horizon to feel as close as possible to the elements.
The construction is of unequalled strength: the best materials are used with impeccable rigor, attested to by quality controls at every stage of construction. Glass and carbon fibres, vinylester and polyester resins, foams and honeycombs are all carefully selected. All structural elements are directly laminated to create perfect rigidity: a monolithic structure in the lower hull, and separate watertight bulkheads provide unparalleled impact resistance.
On an Outremer, safety is our priority.
All the skills of the VPLP team (naval architects of the latest Gunboat, America’s Cup and Vendée Globe, etc.) have been combined to achieve a level of performance never before seen on such a comfortable boat.
CFD (Computational Fluids Dynamics) models have reduced drag and forward resistance, while allowing for higher carrying capacity when blue water cruising.
All sail handling maneuvers are brought back to the helm station, to winches set lower for easy control, allowing you to easily manage the boat single-handed.

QUALITIES
The Outremer 55 is easy to handle, but the feel of the helm won’t deceive you: there’s no denying the origins of this ocean thoroughbred!
Weight centering, balanced hulls and powerful sail plan. At Outremer, sailing qualities are as non-negotiable as safety. High average speeds and good course keeping allowed by the retractable daggerboards shorten passage times meaning you can get to shelter ahead of bad weather.
