To create the Outremer 4X, a lighter version of the of the Outremer 45, the design team brought together Barreau-Neuman, Patrick Le Quément, Darnet Design and Loïck Peyron, world reknowned sailor. The Outremer 4X sees its performance increased, preserving comfort, with the same volume and high level of finish.
Because each Outremer sails millions of miles in its life, it is crucial that the construction quality be flawless. Outremer carries out in-depth studies on materials and equipment, and meticulously controls the weight onboard and its distribution.
Essential structural points are reinforced: stems are protected by several crash boxes, the bottom of the hulls are completely shock resistant and all Outremer catamarans are solid fiberglass below the waterline.
Aerodynamics are maximized to ensure exceptional upwind sailling.
Rigidity on the Outremer 4X is incomparable: main bulkheads are highly engineered and can withstand tremendous forces. Inserts in carbon fiber, closed cells foam, vinylester resin and high resistance isophthalic polyester: everything is built to ensure strength and safety.
